CARLOS TC / BC
CARLOS TC stands for CAR LOading Standard, Trailer Coupling and the additional term BC refers to loads from a Bike Carrier.
The CARLOS TC test simulates multiaxial loads on the tow ball under maximum trailer weight and most extreme driving conditions. This testing procedure has been developed by automobile manufacturers and tow hitch suppliers in cooperation with the German Technical Inspection Association TÜV and the Fraunhofer Institute. Compared to previous uniaxial testing procedures according to ECE R55, CARLOS TC applies loads multiaxially with vertical, longitudinal, and lateral forces.
CFM Schiller provides a complete, pre-configured testing system for CARLOS TC / BC tests. Besides the MOCOKIT® load frame, it comprises all components for application of force as well as necessary sensors. The MOCOKIT® system is ideally suitable for CARLOS testing. For example, it allows adaption of the vehicle’s rear axle, fixation of servo-hydraulic cylinders, and flexible mounting of all necessary testing components.
Additionally, CFM Schiller offers both testing procedures CARLOS TC and CARLOS BC as a service in our in-house testing laboratory. Setup of the test rig adapted to your vehicle, the testing itself, and evaluation including test report are elements of our service package. Please contact us for a non-binding quotation.
